Why this model
Most Chrome extension developers are indie builders or small teams. Charging a platform fee before you've made meaningful revenue creates friction and resentment.
With crxpay:
- Start free — build your extension, set up payments, get your first customers
- Pay only when you're successful — once you've earned $2,500, you can clearly afford 2.5%
- No monthly minimums — if you have a slow month, you pay nothing extra
- Lifetime threshold — the $2,500 free tier is cumulative, not monthly
FAQ
When does the 2.5% fee start?
After your lifetime cumulative revenue (across all extensions on your account) exceeds $2,500. Not per month, not per extension — total lifetime revenue.
Is there a monthly fee?
No. crxpay has no monthly subscription, no setup fee, no minimum commitment.
What about Stripe's fees?
Stripe charges their standard processing fees (~2.9% + 30 cents per transaction in the US) on every payment. This is the same fee you'd pay if you integrated Stripe directly. crxpay's 2.5% fee is separate and only applies after $2,500 in revenue.
Can I see my fee status?
Yes. Your dashboard overview page shows your lifetime revenue, current fee tier, and total platform fees paid.
What if I want to cancel?
There's nothing to cancel — there's no subscription. Stop using crxpay and you stop being charged. Your existing subscribers continue to be managed through Stripe.
